Blue Creek Ranch, an 85,000-acre operation in the Nebraska Sandhills, is looking for a motivated Ranch Technician to join the team caring for bison and supporting regenerative ranching practices. This is not a desk job. You’ll spend your days working outdoors, moving bison, building fence, operating equipment, maintaining water systems, and helping manage an innovative on-ranch grain finishing program. McGinley Ranch is seeking a Ranch Technician passionate about regenerative ranching, adaptive grazing, low-stress livestock handling, and conservation stewardship. ### Key Responsibilities * Assist with livestock care and low-stress bison handling * Build and maintain electric fencing, water systems, and ranch infrastructure * Operate tractors, heavy equipment, ATVs, and UTVs safely * Support grazing management and daily ranch operations * Maintain equipment, vehicles, and accurate ranch records * Participate in ranch safety and wildfire response efforts as needed ### Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required * Experience with livestock handling and heavy equipment preferred * Valid driver’s license required * Strong work ethic, adaptability, teamwork, and initiative ### Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary and on-ranch single-family housing with utilities included. Wrangler, Packer
## About the Job Full time June thru August, can run longer (FT OR PT) into Oct. Mostly Wrangling and Packing. Stock care & feeding. Other various duties such as firewood, hauling/stacking hay, trail clearing, etc., as needed or requested. ## Responsibilities Stay at trailhead & care for stock. Meet guests & interact with them. Catch & saddle mounts. Make up loads & load pack animals ( typically just 1 or 2 unless helping with larger pack trip). Put guests on their mounts & take them & the pack animals 8 miles to Backcountry lodge. (Or the reverse - take stock to lodge to bring guests out). May need to lead long "empty" strings one way or the other. May assist with pack trips or other packing as needed. ## Requirements Must have experience in caring for stick, catching, saddling, making up loads & slinging them, leading pack string etc. Also, interacting with guests, leading trail rides on your own in a safe and enjoyable manner. Driving trucks & trailers a bonus. Must be comfortable on your own for extended periods. Please send resume or introductory email with applicable experience to email noted.
